MIAMI (March 20, 2025) – Unrivaled, the groundbreaking and innovative 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league, concluded its inaugural season on March 17 and succeeded in introducing a new game to fans around the world featuring their favorite players in a highly competitive, player-owned model based in the United States. Co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Unrivaled was officially announced May 30, 2024, disrupting the domestic women's professional sports landscape by centering on investing in its athletes first and foremost.
Capped by a championship at Wayfair Arena in Miami, Florida, featuring the No. 2 seed Rose BC defeating the No. 4 seed Vinyl BC, Unrivaled solidified itself as a preeminent option for women’s basketball players to expand their game on the court and capitalize on domestic engagement opportunities off the court. The inaugural Unrivaled season was highlighted by a 3-on-3 format and 1 on 1 Tournament that enhanced the basketball landscape, coupled with record-setting attendance, broadcast viewership, and social media impressions.
Led by 36 of the greatest women trail blazers, to go along with a continuously growing list of corporate sponsors and investors, Unrivaled concluded its 2025 season with incredible momentum building toward an even more historic 2026 regular season.
Unrivaled amassed an average of 221,000 viewers on TNT and truTV simulcast coverage for the entire season including playoffs, ended the season with 11.9 million total viewers reached, generated more 589 million earned and owned social media impressions, and reached over $8.65M total compensation earned by players between their salary pool, 1 on 1 Tournament, and Championship, on top of the equity they receive in the league.
BROADCAST VIEWERSHIP
On October 16, 2024, Unrivaled announced a six-year broadcast deal with TNT Sports for its games to appear on TNT, truTV and Max, and leading into the season, the league inked a deal with YouTube Live for international viewers, supplemented by deals with TSN in Canada, Bilibili in China and Sky New Zealand.
Unrivaled’s inaugural season across TNT Sports’ networks and platforms delivered a number of viewership & engagement milestones:
- An average of 221,000 viewers on TNT and truTV simulcast coverage during the entire Unrivaled season (including the Unrivaled Playoffs Presented by Samsung Galaxy).
- The Unrivaled Championship game between Rose BC and Vinyl BC averaged 364,000 viewers with a peak of 385,000 viewers.
- Unrivaled coverage reached more than 11.9 million viewers all season and delivered the 10 most-watched women’s basketball games ever on TNT Sports’ networks.
- Unrivaled has also delivered the 10 most-streamed women’s basketball games ever on Max.
- The top performing game this season was the 1 on 1 Tournament Presented by Sprite Finals between Napheesa Collier and Aaliyah Edwards, which peaked at 398,000 viewers, with an average of 377,000 viewers.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Since Unrivaled’s social launch, fan engagement has skyrocketed.
- Unrivaled owned and earned content across league and club accounts as well as fan conversation generated 589.1 million social media impressions.
- Unrivaled’s social media aggregate audience surpassed more than 730,000. From the start of the regular season until the last day of the regular season, growth of Unrivaled’s main social media accounts included:
- Instagram +104.73%
- TikTok +104.19%
- X (Twitter) +58.51%
- YouTube +93.29%
- The league’s main accounts across Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Snapchat and YouTube reached almost 400,000 total followers. Combining all six of Unrivaled’s club social media followers on Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, Snapchat and YouTube resulted in an additional 334,000 followers.
- Beginning January 1, 2025, aggregate social media following for all Unrivaled players grew by 947,000 followers on their personal social media accounts.
- Unrivaled league and club social media accounts posted a combined 3,804 times from Jan. 1 through March 17, averaging a combined 50 posts per day during that timeframe.

MERCHANDISE
Total Unrivaled merchandise sales beginning in October 2024 surpassed seven figures. Beginning on Monday, March 3, in-person purchases of all Unrivaled player jerseys were available to fans at Wayfair Arena, following a deal struck by the WNBPA, Unrivaled and OneTeam Partners that allowed for the usage of individual player name, image and likeness for Unrivaled merchandise.
UNRIVALED.BASKETBALL AND NEWSLETTER
Unrivaled.Basketball became a hub for all the latest Unrivaled news and updates, leading to 4.35M total unique visitors from January 17 through March 19. The Unrivaled newsletter achieved a 60.9% open rate, with a 13.4% click-through-rate, exceeding sports industry averages and reflecting strong reader engagement.
FANS FROM NEAR AND FAR AT WAYFAIR ARENA
The impact of Unrivaled was felt throughout the league, but nowhere is it more evident than in the atmosphere at Wayfair Arena.
- After all games resulted in sellouts at Wayfair Arena, coupled with a show-stopping 1 on 1 Tournament Presented by Sprite, Unrivaled ticket sales surpassed seven figures.
- Fans attending Unrivaled games arrived from 44 different states in the U.S. and 13 countries outside of the U.S.

BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS
Unrivaled featured seven weeks of electrifying 3-on-3 play coupled with a one-of-a-kind 1 on 1 experience for the best women’s basketball players in the world. The Unrivaled Playoffs presented by Samsung Galaxy featured the Rose against the Laces, and the Lunar Owls taking on the Vinyl, with the Rose clinching the first ever Unrivaled Championship over the Vinyl.
After 40 of 42 games recorded for the inaugural Unrivaled regular season, the final postseason standings were not solidified until the last day of the season. Heading into the final day, both the Vinyl and Mist were alive for the final playoff spot. The Vinyl then handed the Lunar Owls just their second loss of the year in the Semifinal that led them to their eventual defeat in the Championship to the Rose.
Lunar Owls BC started the season 8-0 before suffering its only defeat of the regular season on Feb. 21 in a 72-63 loss to the Rose. The Lunar Owls had the highest scoring offense in Unrivaled (80.7 ppg) and best field goal shooting percentage (52.6%).
Nola Henry’s Rose club absorbed a 1-4 start to the season and responded with a 7-2 record beginning Feb. 1 to end the regular season with the No. 2 overall seed and the first-ever Championship title.
The Laces season was highlighted by bookend winning streaks as the No. 3 overall seed. Laces BC came out of the gates strong with a 4-0 record winning by an average of 18.3 points per contest, and they went on to defeat the Phantom and Mist to conclude the regular season on a two-game winning streak, solidifying their postseason bid.
The Vinyl were led by two of the best scorers in Unrivaled, Rhyne Howard and Dearica Hamby. Behind Howard’s 20.5 points per game and Hamby’s 19.9 scoring average, the Vinyl was the only club in Unrivaled with two of the top five scorers.
Chelsea Gray led Unrivaled with six game-winning shots.
On March 3, Phantom forward Brittney Griner recorded the first dunk in Unrivaled history in the first quarter against the Lunar Owls.
